Call summary

Welcome to the weekly call focused on capabilities of the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform. In this call, we highlight recently announced and key existing developer resources, news, community events and three demos.

New this week

Demos

  • New flows and ideas for Power Automate with Microsoft Teams – create powerful web flow solutions using workflow templates in Teams. Recently added 21 new templates to automate event notifications, initiate file synchronization, connect to third party apps, and more. 2 examples shown – Create a new Trello card from message and add button to notify a user in Teams. 2-3 steps to implement template. Full flow created behind the scenes for you to inspect, learn, modify.
  • Latest on the SharePoint site templates - Site creation and template updates – refreshed templates that further simplify the site creation process. Templates show site capabilities and what’s included with template. Preview every page/list, can go back and change template. Create site, add members, add permissions, people can access site as soon as it is created. Templates for both Teams and Communications sites. Q&A includes possible future enhancements. Look book and SharePoint templates similar/different.
  • Latest on using SharePoint Framework for Microsoft Teams extensibility – SPFx uses Teams SDK v2.9.1 by default and a custom or auto generated manifest. Solutions created for Teams are also available automatically in Outlook and Microsoft 365 app. See simple steps to onboard a SharePoint web part into Microsoft Teams. The Teams SDK is natively available in context and Teams Toolkit supports SharePoint Framework. As well, improved debugging for SPFx provided by Teams Toolkit v5.
